Dear Friend,
What if school shootings, the homeless epidemic gender confusion, domestic abuse, and escalating violence in our cities all have the same root cause?
…And what if the issue isn’t a cultural war but a spiritual one?
…And what if Christians have been duped into thinking that the solutions are addressing only the symptoms rather than the root cause?
…What if the real battle is not against flesh and blood, a political party, a different cable channel, or even the progressive media and academia?
We have an enemy, who has been using the same tactics for centuries, and achieving the same diabolical results of death, destruction, disunity, and defamation of God’s character. He is a liar, deceiver, slanderer, and condemner. He is invisible to the naked eye, and has a host of fallen angels to execute his time-honored schemes and strategies:
- Death versus Life
- Idols versus Jesus
- Hate versus Love
- Happiness versus Holiness
- Division versus Unity
- Self-actualization versus Sanctification
- Ego versus Humility
- Bondage vs Freedom
He systematically attacked the sanctity of life, making abortion on demand the law of the land, to kill the next generation before it was born.
He systematically undermined covenant marriage with no-fault divorce, the sexual revolution, and cohabitation to threaten the fabric of society, which provided stability, safety, and hope for the next generation.
He infiltrated our institutions of higher learning over the last 300 years shifting our worldview and basis of TRUTH from the Revelation of a Good God to the “higher reason” of man’s intellect and ultimately to an abandonment of any absolute truth; resulting in a generation with no moral compass, or purpose and marked by anxiety, depression, and epidemic suicide.
Jesus came to DESTROY the works of the devil. It is no accident that he identified HIMSELF as the Light, as the Life, as the Truth, and promised where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM.
We have all we need to defeat the darkness (1 John 4:4) but it will demand a radical refocus on how we look at life, how we live our lives, and fundamentally HOW WE RAISE CHILDREN.
There is no more important agenda for God’s people than Reaching the Next Generation; beginning with those in our own homes.
The BATTLE for your children’s minds and their values will be the most challenging one you will ever face. You need to know the truth, live the truth, and be willing to take a stand for the truth, first and foremost in your own home.
That’s why this month I will be teaching about how to encourage one another because no one can do this alone.
That’s why I will teach you about what it means to be a father, what it means to be a mother, and why God so values the family as his relational incubator to transmit life, love, value, and purpose in the lives of our children through the example and teaching of their parents.
It’s why I’m currently developing a new Daily Discipleship on the Invisible War (available in Oct) to help you and those you love, detect the lies, and know how to do spiritual battle as victors and empowered sons, and daughters of the most high King.
It’s why we are creating a new Next GEN resource (out in September) that will teach you how to
understand, communicate, and connect with your children and grandchildren in a way that “gets their world” and allows you to penetrate theirs with the love of Christ, and the gospel of Jesus.
May is typically a month of celebration. We honor mothers, we go to graduations, and we start thinking about what to get Dad on Father’s Day.
We at Living on the Edge, will certainly do those things; but we are making it a month that we will not sit idly by and watch families be destroyed, marriage be undermined, human sexuality be distorted, and the next generation be lost.
I hope you will listen to this month’s broadcast, grab a small group resource to dig in for the summer and support us financially so we can partner together, destroy the lies of the enemy and bring the HOPE and freedom that Jesus promised.
