PIERCING THE DARKNESS WHERE THE NEED IS GREATEST
Until recently, China has had limited communication with international evangelical ministries, and by the grace of God, Living on the Edge recently had the opportunity to meet with China's leaders who are responsible for all religious activities in the country. We visited three key regions—Shanghai, Beijing, and Nanjing—and spent significant time with national and provincial leaders to better understand how we can continue to support believers' growth with biblically based resources. We are convinced the Lord has opened these doors that will provide further opportunities in China.
Living on the Edge has distributed over 3 million books throughout China, many reaching the most rural and impoverished areas of the country. By securing legal printing permits and gifting these books to specific, trusted Chinese partners, the distribution, training, and usage in Chinese churches is possible. These resources have made their way to the people who need them most through city-wide trainings, and local seminary and regional graduates who have taken the books and training back to their villages. By reaching these people directly with the truth of the gospel, we can be a catalyst that creates and grows disciples. Even in a moment of enhanced Sino-American tensions, we are building bridges, not walls.
We are thankful to our Chinese partners who have extended their hand of friendship and helped us understand the religious regulations in China today. It is by God’s glory and providence that we have been allowed these opportunities!
The Opportunity is Great
The question is not whether there is a hunger and receptivity for our biblical resources in China but rather how quickly we can find the financial resources necessary to meet this need. Currently, True Spirituality, The A.R.T. of Survival, The Real God, and Why We Believe continue to be used by pastors, small groups, and individual believers throughout the country. We aim to bring another 250,000 books into China in 2024 with the help of our Chinese partners. The need is great, but so is the impact of God’s Word.
Why All this Attention on Pastors?
Every believer is called to be salt and light in the world, yet God has called some to be leaders (Ephesians 4:11). A church rises or falls based on the spiritual leadership of the pastor and discipleship.
The pastor's job is to make biblically prepared disciples, but most pastors around the world have never been discipled themselves. A recent study shows that only 14 percent of church leaders believe they are effective at making disciples.
Living on the Edge is eager to pierce the darkness with unique training that starts with the character of pastors before we help them learn the techniques of how to be an effective leader. Resources like The A.R.T. of Survival, Romans 12 Training, and High Impact Church prepare church leaders to make disciples of ALL nations.

Partnering For Discipleship
When like-minded ministries hosted some evangelistic events throughout El Salvador, Living on the Edge was there to help churches follow up with new believers. We offered a dynamic discipleship focus for each of the more than 200,000 people who came to Christ through these events.

Piercing The Darkness By Discipling God's People
Now more than ever, we are committed to filling the discipleship gap! We've seen God powerfully reach His people through our broadcast ministry, delivered on XM radio, podcast platforms, and the Chip Ingram app.
Living on the Edge remains steadfast in helping believers fill their minds with the truth of God's Word through biblical resources. Recently, we released several new teaching series. First was a special message on relationships from Chip and Theresa's 45th anniversary interview, hosted by their daughter. Additionally, we introduced Jesus Is, a rich study to deepen understanding of the key roles Jesus fulfills for His people. Finally, Chip's newest series, Less is More, helps believers learn how to simplify and deepen their time in God's Word.

REACHING THE NEXT GENERATION
Our partnership with Steiger International continues to bear fruit as we finalize distribution on the Not Beyond Reach course for churches and small groups this fall. This course equips believers to have spiritual conversations with young people who have walked away from their Christian faith and with those who do not yet know Jesus.
