What would it look like to live a purposeful life? For many of us, we’re still busy looking for what our purpose is. So where can we turn to find the answer?
God’s Word is the perfect place to start. Ephesians 2:10 (NASB) says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
First, it’s important that we understand the significance of being God’s workmanship. In the New Living Translation of this passage, it begins with the encouragement that “we are God’s masterpiece.” God made us, and He made us with care and intentionality. Think about it. If you read through the Genesis account of creation, you discover how carefully and masterfully God created the world. Each element was planned and executed with a purpose in mind, and Scripture says He “saw that it was good” when He surveyed His handiwork. He feels the same way when He looks at you.
